you can remove the arb in one piece if you just drop the rear of the subframe slightly whilst keeping everything supported,

Don't suppose you guys want to stick around and partake in some coilover fitting as well ; ].

I'm not too sure how much i'll enjoy being arb-less at standard height, i'll be two wheeling round corners haha

And yeah, matt was telling me this. But i'm not overly confident about doing that really, nor do i have anywhere to really get the car high enough to do so =/

just get matt to take it off for you, won`t take him long on his ramp, besides you`ll prob have to go to him for tracking and camber setup afterwards, just go the whole hog and get him to do the lot for ya,,

sticking a grinder in the wheelarch of a mk4 golf does not seem the best idea in the world to me!!

Ah dang. Matt put them on the leon for me, it was a lot easier at the time and i had the money. I'm just pretty poor right now!

I'll probably just hold off for now, get some more money or something.

And yeah that sounds like a good idea actually olly, i'll definitely be taking it to him for tracking so that makes sense. Then just adjust the coilovers after it's out, and set it all up.

Cheers anyway guys

IF YOU ADJUST THE HEIGHTS ON THE COILS ONCE ITS OUT AND BEEN FRESHLY ALIGNED YOU WILL PUT ALL THE ALIGNERS HARD WORK TO WASTE,
YOU NEED TO GET YOUR GEOMETRY CHECKED AND ADJUSTED EACH TIME YOU ALTER THE HEIGHT,,

No no. Caps lock was unnecessary here.

I meant once the arb is out. Drop the car, and then set it all up, ie. set up all the tracking.

Bodge now and pay big time later. Just save abit and then do it properly 1st time.

Brakes, tyres and suspension should always be done properly. I'm going to fully rebuild the front end of mine just because of a squeaking noise I can't trace. It's no affecting it, but it shouldn't do it and I don't fancy a control arm giving up on a bend.

Yeah, i know that's the best option really and i'll probably stick with it now. Makes more sense really too thinking about it.
The desire for it to be ready for sunday is taking over a bit though i guess.

If you half ass it, it'll disappoint you. Go from standard to coils and ARBs and you get the full effect Of the new bits, rather than a gradual effect as you add bits

Its amazing how many times you read about people wanting to cut corners (no pun intended) and go for the quick fix. Always better to save up and do the mods properly. You'll be able to enjoy the car more, it'll be more reliable and be worth more at resale time. :silent:
