8.5 fronts would with spacers. 10 rears would need mega bucks of arch work and spacers

when I say arch work, its more like widening the entire arch/wide arch, not just rolling and flaring. Depth of the whole arch well is probably only slightly more than 10 inchs, before even fitting the struts in there

I had 8.5 on the rear which was fine, a few peeps run 9s all round which is tight and probably as big as you'd want to go really

with those 17x10 ET50, if you bolt straight on, the face of the wheel will be 1.5cm outside the arch but will take up 5cm more back in the arch so thats a no go, so if you spaced them that will go to ET20 as to clear the strut you will need around a 30mm spacer that will push the face of the wheel nearly 2 inchs outside the arch hahahaha

Yeah definitely not. Plus it'll look like a 4x4. :( You should be aiming for around et35-15 on a 9j with rolled arches on a mk3, any 10j's of any offset are gunna be way more work than its worth to fit them.

17x10 is the same as I've got on the rear of the passat mate, and that's a bit of a squeeze :lol:Think they're definately a little big!

16x7.5 and 9 looks good imo, a nice lil stagger! Unless you feel like going all out and sitting it on a set of 9's all round? Quite a bit of fiddling around with camber/arch rolling etc but would be worth it in the long run!
